Treatments of Infertility with the help of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is prominent in assuring a healthy treatment of disorders without causing any side-effects. This practice is prevailing in India since ancient times, and it has been scientifically proven that the ayurvedic treatments of disorders are ideal for people.  Infertility is one such issue which is quite common in the modern age and has caused grave concerns for both the genders- male and female. The Infertility treatment in Ayurveda has made it possible for infertile males to develop the habits of fertilizing with many effective treatments.

What is male infertility?

When volume, size, and motility of semen is not adequate to make fertile women pregnant, Male infertility occurs. This can be caused due to low sperm count, thin semen,mobility of semen, and erectile dysfunction. These are some of the crucial symptoms of male infertility.

Ayurvedic causes of Infertility

Vyayamat – When the male sex organ gets over-exerted, the veins  carrying the sperms tends to get swollen and thus are not able to function properly.

Akale- This is caused due to the reckless involvement in sexual activities before 18 years of age in men. Indulging in sexual activities for numerous times at a young age can lead to “Shukra dhatu.”

Ayonau- Indulging in unethical sexual activities. This may include masturbation or anal sex. Hasthmaithun can block the nerves which carry semen and may cause the cells to rupture, leading to erectile dysfunction.

Male infertility treatment in Ayurveda

  • The shodhan chikitsa is the most prominent way of cleansing the dosha which prevails in the males. The Kapha, pitta, and veta dushti are divinely treated with ayurvedic practices to eliminate Vaman, Virechan, and Basti respectively from the type of body.
  • Therapies like panchakarma, which rejuvenates the whole body with oiled massage, are effective against the prevailing dosha in the body.
  • Shirodhara and Nasya is also a soothing treatment of physical and mental relief from stress and anxiety.
  • Triphala, Gokchur, Ashwagandha, Kesar,milk, amla,Musli, and Shatavri are essential ingredients from the proven backgrounds of Ayurveda which assures great consequences in Male infertility treatment in Ayurveda.
  • Almonds, Date(khajur), walnuts, and pumpkin seeds also have various properties which enhance the fertility growth in men. Kesar milk is also helpful in Erectile dysfunction.

Female Infertility

 When a woman is not able to conceive a child with a fertile man, then this disorder is called Women Infertility. This can prevail due to certain factors like ovarian malfunction, flaws in the fallopian tube, reckless activities during menstrual cycle like physical activities, and eating of spicy food as well.

Some of the symptoms of female infertility are  Chronic pelvic pain, pain during sexual intercourse, Back pain due to the over Exaggerated movements in the lower half of the body, fatigue post-sexual activity, nausea, irritable bowel syndrome and irregular periods. These signs are enough to indicate Female infertility. But, Female infertility treatments in Ayurveda have advanced drastically and are no less than a boon for all the women, who aspire to give birth to their child.

Female infertility treatments in Ayurveda

  1. The use of ayurvedic remedies like Ashoka, Aloe-vera, Shatavri, and dashmoola helps in the proper functioning of the ovulation processes. Ovulation disorders are prominent reason for infertility in women.
  2. The use of magical elements like Guduchi,deevanti, and punarnava helps in eliminating the fallopian tube disorders and also maintains healthy menstrual cycles.
  3. The practice of swedanam- This practice involves the sweating out of toxins from the body of females by covering them in heavy blankets. This practice eliminates the “dosh” from various body types.
  4. The detoxicating therapy of eliminating the menstrual disorders called sodhna is highly effective. These female infertility treatments in Ayurveda have yielded many benefits and consequences.
